Interior Design: Entryways

When buying a house, the one thing that you will notice right away is the entrance of a home. A grand entryway can leave you in awe and make you love the house right off the bat. If the entry way is displeasing then it could leave you asking "What does the rest of the house look like?"

For me,  a grand entryway is not something that I look for in a house. Even though some grand entryways are very stunning to look at  and it leaves a good impression from the start, it is not on my wish list for a house.

However, I do believe in having a nice entryway is important for my future house. When guest come to visit, I want them to come in and feel like this is a nice home. A entryway does not need to have the grand stair case or the over sized chandler to make that "wow" statement. All it takes is the perfect set up and staging for it to be the perfect entryway.

Here are a few suggestions in making your bland entryway spectacular!

Having a mirror and a little table is a great way to make the entryway feel homier. Adding flowers or any décor will welcome your guest in home.

REFLECTIVE TRADITIONAL ENTRYWAY

Having a great accent rug in your entryway will make it feel more inviting. You can keep it simple with earth tones or use a pop of color to brighten up the space.
Beautiful entryway! So light, but still so fresh.

Have your entry way painted in a light color. A dark or bold color like red or blue might not set the best mood right when you walk in. Having earth tones or a pastel paint color will make the entryway feel bright and inviting. I personally like soft gray or white walls. It just gives it a more classy feel.

I hope some of these tips have inspired you to think about your current entryway. It does not take a lot of time or money to make your entrance bright and new.
